Hunter Leon Eakright, born on August 14, 2000, in Kansas City, Missouri, left this world far too soon on April 23, 2025, in Independence, Missouri at the age of 24. He brought a vibrant energy to all those who knew him and will be dearly missed.
Hunter graduated from Van Horn High School. Afterwards he found his passion as a welder, currently employed at One Source Truck, where he helped to build custom truck parts. It was not just a job for him, it was a trade he loved.
He was more than just a hard worker; he was a bright personality—smart, funny, and quick-witted. Hunter had the ability to light up a room with his infectious laughter and charming demeanor. He cherished his close circle of friends and family. At birth John Beach was named Hunter's godfather and from that point on he was accepted in the Beach family with open arms. The love he had for his adopted family was immeasurable and they helped to shape him into the man he became.
Hunter had many hobbies. He enjoyed skateboarding, indulged in all genres of music, and found joy in gardening. Hunter liked to cook and inspired to “live off the land” by growing his own food. He loved spending time at the lake and embarked on float trips down the Sac River, creating priceless memories with his friends and family. The Fourth of July was his favorite holiday—a time when he could revel in making things go boom and celebrating with those he loved.
Hunter is survived by his father, Brandon Eakright; mother, Susan (Funk) Eakright; sister, Alista Eakright; maternal grandparents, Maryann Becker and Conley J. Funk; godfather, John Beach; bonus siblings, Patrick Beach and Aron Ashlock; and his close friends, Connor Curtis and Christopher Moore who were a treasure to Hunter and he held them dear to his heart.
Hunter's spirit will live on through the memories shared and the countless lives he impacted. A visitation will be held on May 2, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Speaks Suburban Chapel, located at 18020 East 39th St S, Independence, MO 64055.
Although he has departed from this world, Hunter’s legacy of laughter, creativity, and love will forever remain in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
