Bio | Karen loved music, dancing, videos and food. She would go to dance classes and learn all the line dances. When the TV came on, she would freeze! Then sing and dance.
Karen was a hard worker; she always would keep 2 jobs and 2 cars. She rather have more than not enough. She graduated from Van Horn High School class of '94. Later she took culinary classes, and she worked in the catering/banquet industry.
Karen was always smiling. You hardly ever caught her without a grin. Her favorite color was "red" she loved her red lipstick and makeup, but she loved color period.
Karen has 5 children and 11 grandchildren which she loved like any other young mother. Even while in the nursing facility she found ways to purchase her family Christmas gifts.
Karen never married but was open to the opportunity. She loved concerts, live music. We saw Charlie Wilson 2 or 3 times. She was always moving on the go. Grass didn't grow under her feet. She made sure her elderly mother got her weekly request salads like clockwork.
Karen also was a wonderful friend. If she had, you had. She was known as KC or Special K. She was preceded in death by her sister Michele Carter, her grandmother Travis Washington, her mother, Idena Carter, she was a loving, fun person, just crazy, protective and full of life.
She leaves to cherish her memories her children: Two sons of Kansas City, Sheldon Carter and William Carter Three daughters: Mulexis Hankins, Freedom Carter, Michelle Hardy all of Kansas City Her father, Lloyd Carter, Two Brothers: Michael Carter and Antonio Carter both of Kansas City; 11 Grandchildren:Mylin Williams, Messiah Williams, Malachi Williams, Monty Williams, Ly'rical Carter, Airean Carter- Collins, Amerrio Carter-Collins, Ariel Carter-Collins, A'mora Carter-Collins, Alena Carter and Aiyanna Williams. A special "Forever Friend & Soul Sister" Tasha Johnson and a host of other relatives and friends
Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 24, 2023, 11am at the Watkins Heritage Chapel. Visitation 10-11 am. Interment Forest Hill Cemetery. Services conducted by Lawrence A. Jones & Sons Funeral Chapel. Condolences may be shared on our website. |
