James Charles Reeves was born March 28, 1968, in Foreman Arkansas to Helen L Reeves and Leon Dee. Later in life he moved to Kansas City, Mo. He was educated and completed high school at Van Horn High School. James was an amazing father, husband, handyman, mechanic, and grill master. He worked at KC Masterpiece for 17 years from 1992-2009.
James met and eventually married Rhonda Jackson Reeves. They were together from 1989 to 1999 before taking the next step in their longtime relationship to getting married November 18, 2000. He was blessed with 3 children: Ja’Mesha Cain, James Reeves II, and a bonus daughter Charonda Price.
He enjoyed music and rigging equipment all the time. He loved to invent all types of gadgets for the house or combining everyday things for better use and just to show his productive side. James found joy in amazing people with his grilling abilities as well. The most fun he has been with his love cooking and playing music while most of the time fixing someone’s car or any thing that he could get his hands on. The best joy he has of course was being up under his wife. Wherever she was, you would see James.
James departed this life on April 23, 2025, and Helen L Reeves (Mother) Leon Dee (Father), Grandmother Bessie fowler, cousin's Gloria Wright, Debbie Wright, Uncle Eddie Wright, Aunt's Bertha Wright, Aretha Fowler, Dorothy Patton, and Bennie M. Fowler preceded him in death.
James leaves to cherish his memory, wife Rhonda Jackson Reeves; children Ja’Mesha Reeves Cain (Kevin Jr), James II, and Charonda Price (JB); siblings Steve Reeves, Demond Reeves (Carol), Nita Reeves Jones (Artis Jones), Reggie Reeves (Shuneka), Levell Burris; grandchildren 3J, Alycia, Mylee, Karmello, and Ka’Mari. Also a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services for James Reeves will beheld on Friday May 9, 2025, visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. - 11:00 A.M. with services beginning at 11:00 A.M. at Golden Gate Funeral & Cremation Services, LLC 2800 East 18th St., Kansas City, Mo 64127. |
