Bio | Everett Eugene Carter Jr. January 29, 1963 – January 5, 2025 Obituary of Everett Eugene Carter Jr. IN THE CARE OF Newcomer's Noland Road Chapel Everett “Tubby” Eugene Carter Jr., born on January 29, 1963, at Conley Maternity Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly on January 5, 2025, in Independence, Missouri. He was the cherished son of the late Everett Eugene Carter Sr. (1936–2021) and Mary Lou (Dines) Carter (1942–2022). Everett grew up in Independence, Missouri, where he attended Noland Elementary School and graduated from Van Horn High School. His life was filled with treasured memories and meaningful connections with family and friends. He is survived by his loving partner, Bonnie Reber, and his children: Valencia, Vanessa, and Javier Lorenzo, Antoinette McKenzie and Zach Batzold. Everett also leaves behind his siblings: Georgia Lee Rodeen (Sven), Jimmy Ray Carter (Leona), Timmy Eugene Carter (Missy), Sherry Jane Boyle (Donnie), Bobby Joe Carter, and Tommy Lee Carter (Jeannette “JJ” McIntire). He will be fondly remembered by his lifelong best friends, Richard and Tammy Anthony, along with their children. Numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, cousins, and friends also mourn his loss. Everett was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Mary Irene Carter; and his grandparents: Robert Given Carter and Etta Irene (Sales) Carter, as well as John Leslie Dines and Georgie Mae (Miller) McClure. Everett’s life was a testament to the love he shared with those around him. His memory will forever remain a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew him. A visitation for Everett will be held Saturday, January 11, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Newcomer's Noland Road Chapel, 509 S. Noland Rd. Independence, 64050, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM. A committal service will occur Saturday, January 11, 2025, immediately following services at Appleton City Cemetery, 13500 NW 1000 Rd, Appleton City, MO 64724.
