Gregory Delmar Akers, of Independence, passed away far too soon on Wednesday, June 2, 2021. He was 57. A visitation will be held from 9-10am on Thursday, June 10 with a funeral service following at 10am, both at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052. Interment will follow at Blue Springs Cemetery.
Greg was born on August 10, 1963 in Kansas City, MO to William Morgan and Willa May (Pettitt) Akers. He graduated Van Horn High School in 1981, and was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. Greg leaves behind many friends and family who love him.
He is survived by sisters, Debbie Watson and Patty Akers; brother, Jeff Akers; nieces and nephews, Nathan, Darran, Jami, Aron, Eric, Kyle, and Cody; as well as his beloved fur babies, Cheyenne and Thunder, his German Shepherds and his cat, Billie Bob. He is preceded in death by his parents.
