Bio     Daniel Maurice Williams August 14, 1963 - February 18, 2021 Daniel “Boonie” Maurice Williams, 57, passed away on February 18, 2021, peacefully at his home in Kansas City, Missouri. Boonie was born on August 14, 1963, to Major and Lenora Williams who he joins in Heaven. He is also preceded in death by his late grandparents, a sister, Jacqueline Williams and a brother, Gordon Williams. Daniel accepted Christ at an early age at Boone Tabernacle Church of God in Christ. He was educated in the Kansas City, Missouri School District and he graduated from Van Horn High School, in 1981. During this time, he enjoyed playing football, doing amateur photography and even held a Junior Police Cadet position. Daniel married Pamela Drake in December 1985. Dan and Pam were married for 23 years and during this time, they lovingly raised five sons, Aaron, Jordan, Tyler, Zachary and Nicholas. Daniel taught his sons how to love with a generous heart, work hard, and support one another. His legacy lives on through his sons and their children as they continue to abide by these life lessons. Daniel later met and married Audrey Solomon on September 1, 2016. Audrey always referred to him as “My Superman.” They loved traveling together, dancing and just being in each other’s presence. Audrey’s family nicknamed him Dancin’ Dan because he was always bustin’ a move and showing off his dance skills. Audrey tenderly cared for Daniel, through his illness, with the help of his sons as they were always willing to provide support. Until the very end, Daniel remained in high spirits. Audrey will always remember Dan as the love of her life and will continue to dance with him in her heart. Daniel was employed at the ADM Flour Mill for over 10 years. During this time, his son, Aaron, started a lawn care service which Daniel eventually developed into his own business, Dan’s Lawn Care. Daniel retired 17 years later and passed the lawncare business to his middle son, Tyler. Daniel was known for his hard work ethic and always provided for his family. He was willing to learn new skills and tackle any challenges thrown his way. Gone but never forgotten, Daniel leaves to cherish his memories and his loving wife, Audrey, of 4 years. Daniel is survived by his five beloved sons, Aaron, Jordan (Amanda), Tyler (Tara), Zachary (Kristina), and Nicholas. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Braelyn, Harper, Makenzie, Dallas, Hadley, Parker, and Hank. Daniel leaves behind five brothers, Johnnie (Evangeline), Michael (Thelma), Major (Lee), Timothy (Aline), Patrick (Dorothy), and two sisters, Angela and Lenora Williams. Daniel always had a special place in his heart for his nephew, Michael “Mike Mike” Williams Jr. and his niece, Ajuana “Wannie” Williams. Daniel is also survived by a special aunt, Ernestine Johnson. He will be missed by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Daniel leaves behind his beloved mother-in-law, Geraldine Duvalier, five sister-in-law’s, Linda, Debra, Paula, Geraldine (Craig), Clara (Joe), three brother-in-law’s, John (Beverly), Leon, Anthony (Leah), and special brother-in-law, DeAngelo. Daniel never met a stranger as he was always smiling and striking up a conversation wherever he went. He wasn’t afraid to live true to himself and rock those cowboy boots and a Stetson hat. Boonie was funny, entertaining, and easy to talk to with that infectious smile. He had a deep love for The Temptations and always had music playing in the background. We miss your presence on Earth, but know you are dancing in Heaven. “To my Sons, I want you to believe deep in your heart that you’re capable of achieving anything you put your mind to, that you will never lose, you either win or learn. Just go forth and aim for the skies. I can’t promise to be here for the rest of your life, but I can promise to love you for the rest of mine. Love, Dad.” Daniel’s visitation will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2021, at 10:00am at Watkins Heritage Chapel located at 4000 Emanuel Cleaver II Blvd, Kansas City, Missouri 64130.
