Bio | Steven James Dennis of Kansas City, Mo., died Saturday, October 8, 2016, after a long battle with cancer. Steve was a strong Christian man, and throughout his battle he kept his witty sense of humor, strong love of family and friends, and an unbelievably upbeat attitude. His favorite pastime was flipping houses and doing odd jobs for others. Steve was a loving husband, father, Papa, brother, uncle, son, and friend; family time was very important to him. Steve leaves behind his wife, Brenda; his children, Jason (Brandie) Dennis, and Amanda (Justin) Nightingale; stepchildren, Kimberly Wilcox, Stephanie (Jason) Hefley; his grandchildren, Jackson, Abigail, Charlotte, Liberty, JoAnna, Alexa, Evageline, Johnny, Sean, and Brendan; father, Richard (Heather) Dennis; brothers, Matthew and Brian; sisters, Terri Kitner, Tamara Holland, and Denise Williams; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by mother, MaryAnne; two brothers, Scott and Billy; and sister, Tracey. A visitation will be held from 4-5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11, with a memorial service being held at 5 p.m., all at the Life Connection Church, 3883 Blue Ridge Blvd., Independence, MO 64052.
