| Bio | Michael Steven Butts, Sr., 51, of Independence, MO, passed away, Saturday morning, March 12, 2011, at North Kansas City Hospital. A celebration of Michael's life will be held from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday evening, at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Avenue, Independence, MO 64052 with cremation to follow. Mike was born April 9, 1959 in Independence, MO, to John D. and Renee (Ungerer) Butts, Jr., and has been a life- long Independence resident. He had worked for Gold Foundry and Machine Works for 27 years before they closed. He then worked for Clay & Bailey Manufacturing until his passing. He enjoyed fishing, gambling, and boating. He is survived by his mother, Renee Butts; two sisters, Martha Russell and Mary Fetters; three brothers: Raymond, Daniel, and George; three children: Michael S. Butts, Jr., of Iowa, Jennifer and Patrick Butts, of Independence, MO; six grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and many close friends. His father, John D.
