Bio | Following my graduation from Kansas University I worked for 10 years in architecture and design. After receiving my MS from Cornell University, I have continued my work that field and am a Principal at STUDIOS Architecture. My projects have included the renovation of the Pentagon, USO Family Centers, and offices for multiple Federal Agencies. I was married in 20006 to my husband Thomas after a 20 year "courtship" which basically means waiting for the legal environment to extend the privileges of marriage to all people. After 35 years in DC, we have moved permanently to Truro Massachusetts to be near Tom's family and the ocean. We have renovated a cylindrical home designed by Eleanor Petersen, a student of Frank Lloyd Wright, as part of an ongoing commitment to save works by minority and women architects. I credit my upbringing in Independence, my church, and the tremendous public education I received for giving me a foundation to be good citizen and contribute to society. My teachers at Van Horn were simply the best. |
