| Bio | Lawrence “Larry” Robert James, 60, Independence, Missouri passed away January 22, 2018. A visitation will be held 2:00 – 3:00 PM, Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Heartland Cremation & Burial Society. A memorial service will follow 3:00 PM, Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Heartland Cremation & Burial Society, 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd, Raytown, Misssouri. Larry was born December 30, 1957 in Kansas City, Missouri. He was the former owner of Hill’s Florist Greens, a former real estate appraiser with Jackson County Assessment Division and his early years was employed at Texas Toms. He was a gardener, avid Chiefs fan, music lover and fisherman. Larry had many varied interests including collecting Star Trek memorabilia and Santa’s. He will be remembered for his love of growing tomatoes, eggplants, habaneros and lilies; all from propagating them from seeds. Larry was preceded in death by: his father Sam J. James; mother, Betty J. James and an infant sister Roselinda James. Survivors include; sister, Connie James, Independence, Missouri; brother and sister-in-law, Joe & Sherri James, Fontana, California; nephews, David James, Independence, Missouri, Jason James & wife Cherese, Yuba City, California; niece, Jennifer James, Yuba City, California; six great nieces; Brittany, Meagan, Tianna, Kelee, Fosstyne and Evangelina James; estranged wife, Penny Hopkins James, Independence, Missouri; three step children, Michael, Mandy & Jennifer and six step grandchildren. He will be missed by his beloved Akita dog, Gia. |
