Bio     Curtis Alan Anderson, 56 Kansas City, MO passed away January 29, 2015. After a long struggle, he is free. Curt was born September 30, 1958 in Kansas City, Mo to Carl and Ruth Anderson, the third of three boys. He was born in the same hospital in which he passed, Research Medical Center. Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Carrie Salley Anderson; children, Cayla, Cassidy and Colton all of the home, Angela Anderson of Grain Valley, MO; six grandchildren; his mother, Ruth Anderson and his brother, Richard Anderson. He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Anderson and a brother, Carl David Anderson. Curt was employed by American Crane and Tractor Parts, Kansas City, KS for 22 years and with Arrow Forklift, Kansas City, MO for 11 years previous. He was a hard working man and took great pride in that. Curt also prided himself on being a hard worker at home, too. Although it was more of a joy to him maintaining a nice yard and vegetable garden. He played as hard as he worked too. He enjoyed fishing and hunting as a young man and as an adult. He especially enjoyed fly fishing and atleast one yearly visit to Bennett Springs State Park; a place he considered to be heaven on earth. Camping, walks in the woods and visits to Lake Jacomo were among his favorite back to nature pursuits. Curt was also a great lover of drag racing. He was a frequent visitor to KC Drag Strip and also to Pomona, CA for the NHRA races. In his heart he was born to drag. As a boy, he lived and played on the grounds that now are home to The Sports Complex and loved to tell stories to his kids of how he walked the rails of the old Rock Island Railroad. As a young man he liked to camp along the bluffs of the Missouri River and also had many great adventure stories to tell his wife and kids of those times. Curt also was an expert billiards player and a master of the "Trick Shot'. He liked nothing better than to spend his weekends playing pool and listening to his large record collection in his mancave. He was a man with a big heart and definitive passions. His presence will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him best.
