Joseph R. "Joe B." Butkovich, 54, Sugar Creek, MO died Aug. 19, 2011. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 am, Thursday, Aug. 25 at St. Cyril's Catholic Church. Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Wed. at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052. Joe was born March 21, 1957 in Independence and was a life-long area resident. He graduated from Van Horn High School. He worked at Honeywell for thirty-one years before retiring in 2009 and was a member of the International Associated Machinists Local #778. He was a member of the church. Joe loved Harley Davidson motorcycles, playing poker with his friends and rock n' roll. Joe was preceded in death by his sister Marieta Butkovich Tjaden. He is survived by daughter Tahkeyshia: "T.J." Butkovich, Independence, MO; son Joe Butkovich III, Sugar Creek, MO; daughter Jackie Butkovich, Kansas City, MO; brothers Tom Butkovich, Sugar Creek, MO; Pete Butkovich, Richmond, MO; his mother Doras Butkovich, Independence, MO; his father Fabian Butkovich, Sugar Creek, MO; grandchildren Austin McAdams, Eliana Myers, Joey Butkovich, Harley Butkovich and Drake Butkovich.
