Bio | 1 grown child daughter, one 14 yr old son that is attending Van Horn, one grandchild 11. I have a associates in nursing from Park University, but quit nursing after 20 years, living in Independence. Children and grandchild are the loves of my life.
Kimberly K. Hendrix, 58, of Independence, MO passed away Thursday, October 8, 2015. A visitation will be held from 9-10:00am Tuesday, October 13th at Speaks Suburban Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 10:00am at the chapel. Burial will be at Mt. Washington Cemetery.
Kimberly was born June 12, 1957 in Kansas City, MO as one of six children to Marilyn Elizabeth (Burkhardt) and Forrest Darwin Brown, Sr. She grew up in Blue Summit and graduated from Van Horn High School. She also received her LPN from Penn Valley and her RN from Park University. Kimberly worked at North Kansas City Hospital for over fifteen years and then worked for the Kansas City Kansas School District as a Nutrition Services Manager for over ten years. She loved her family. Her relationship with Jimmie Lee Hendrix, Sr. gave them two wonderful children whom she adored. In turn her children gifted her love of three grandchildren whom Kimberly cherished. She loved to travel with her mother and sister going to craft fairs. They often traded novels they all enjoyed. Kimberly was an avid reader. Her family remembers her for her overwhelming goodness and love. She was protective of her little brother in her youth and funny selfless, and good humored through out her life. Kimberly is loved and will be missed.
She is survived by her daughter, Dana Leighann King (Kenneth) of Independence, MO; son, Jimmie Lee Hendrix, Jr. (Reonna Moore) of Blue Springs, MO; grandchildren, Danan Forrest Lee Brown, Sydney Elizabeth Lynn King, and Briella Noel Hendrix; brother, Forrest Darwin Brown, Jr. (Susie) of Kimberling City, MO; sister, Cheryl Suzanne Garrett (Bruce) of Blue Springs, MO; sister, Jeri Arlene Brown of North Kansas City, MO; brother Brian William Brown of Independence, MO; and brother Teddi Dayle Brown (Susan Stanley) of Blue Summit, MO; her mother, Marilyn; and five nieces, four nephews, and numerous friends who will miss her. She was preceded in death by her father, Forrest; husband Jimmie; and beloved Uncle Harold Burkhardt whom she cared for in his last days.
