Moriah, Newcomer and Freeman Funeral Home & Mount Moriah Cemetery South Brian Kirk Tracy, age 65, of Independence, Missouri passed away November 18, 2021, peacefully at home. Brian’s Celebration of Life will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday December 08, 2021, at Mount Moriah Funeral Home. Visitation will be held 10:00 AM, Wednesday December 08, 2021, at Mount Moriah Funeral. Memorial contributions including flowers, condolences, and keepsakes can be sent to 10507 Holmes Rd, Kansas City, MO 64131. Brian Tracy was born May 29, 1956, in Independence, Missouri. He was a loyal and devoted son, father, and brother with remarkable musical and athletic talent. His outstanding talent was quickly recognized at a young age and was awarded a tennis and music scholarship from Missouri Western State College after graduating from Van Horn High School. Shortly thereafter, he was recruited by the US Navy to play saxophone for their band but decided upon a civilian career as a musician and Parts Manager at Star Motors. Brian continued to play tennis throughout his twenties with his talent again quickly recognized and was recruited on as a tennis professional at Stayton Meadows in Kansas City. Brian played keyboard and saxophone for several bands throughout the decades, notably The Regular Guys, County Line, and most recently Oasis. In Brian’s later years, he enjoyed peaceful evenings at home paired with classic television programs, enjoyable outings with his brother, Brent, rejoicing with old friends, and take to the T at local golf courses. Brian Tracy is survived by his wife Frances Tracy, brother Brent Tracy, sons Rodney and Sean, daughter Dana, son-in-law Jon, daughter-in-law Jennifer, and grandchildren Micah, Nathan, and Erika.
