Bio | Glenn E Johney, 36, Wichita, formerly of Independence, died Nov. 24, 1992, at the home of his brother in Erie, PA. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Messiah Lutheran Church, Independence. The body was donated to the Humanity Gift Registry of the University of Pennsylvania at Pittsburgh. The family suggest contributions to the American Diabetes Association. Mr. Johney was born in Kansas City and lived in Independence before he moved to Wichita in 1978. He was an aeronautical engineer for the Boeing Co. from 1978 until he retired in February 1992. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Wichita, was a volunteer for its youth group, and wa a former president of the American Association for Lutherans in Wichita. He was a member of the board of directors of the Independent Living Center of South-Central Kansas. He graduated from Van Horn High School in 1974, and received a bachelor's degree in aeronautical engineering from the University of Missouri- Rolla in 1978. Survivors include his parents, Eugene A. and Czerna Johney of Independence; two brothers, Gary E. Johney, Pasadena, MD., and Gale E Johney, Erie, Pa.; and three nephews and a niece.
