Herbert John Hahn, III, 67, of Chesapeake, VA passed away on October 15, 2023. John was born on April 9, 1956 in Newark, New Jersey to Herbert and Bette Hahn, both preceding him in death. At an early age John and his family moved to Suffolk, Va where he spent his early youth exploring the woods, fields, and streams with his pals. After several years in Virginia, his father's work took the family to Nebraska City, Nebraska and then to Independence, Missouri where John graduated from Van Horn High School. John attended Central Missouri State University and graduated with a bachelors degree in sociology. After graduating college, John moved back to Suffolk with his family. He always considered Virginia home. John settled in Chesapeake and began his work life which included time at White's Nursery, Tidewater Fleet Supply, and FedEx Ground. John was an earnest and diligent worker. He took pride in his work and enjoyed interacting with his customers. He retired in 2021. John loved telling stories about his work exploits. He was always cheerful and had a kind smile. His family will miss him. John is survived by his brother, Chris (Barb); sister, Susan Smith (George); an aunt; many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
