Bio | It is with sadness I let this group know about the passing of Steve Briggs, aka Jonny Quest, class of '74. He was scheduled to attend this year's 50-year reunion, happening this weekend at the Ameristar Casino. Steve lived in Moss Beach, CA and was walking the dog at Fort Funston in SF yesterday when he had a heart attack and fell. Good Samaritans came to his side, an off-duty nurse administered CPR and a couple in SF also took in the dog temporarily. His wife Karen Gorman wanted me to inform those who arranged the reunion. Hopefully those present will raise a glass to his very interesting and globe- trotting life as a QA specialist in the pharmaceutical industry. Just Friday, in a thread about the passing of Chi Chi Rodriguez here on FB, he wrote about meeting his brother Jesus while living in Puerto Rico. He made many trips to Asia and Europe where he always scheduled fun activities alongside work. Steve and I were close during our Van Horn years, to the extent I lived at his house three blocks from school for four months during my Junior year, where many shenanigans ensued. Many years later we reconnected when he and Karen moved to Northern California. Besides his wife, he leaves a brother Pete Collins and two children, Joe and Amy Gorman. 裕im McGraw, class of '75 |
