Bio | A Higginsville, MO resident, 52 year old Charles Mathew Oleksy, died Saturday, November 1, 2008, at his home. At his request his body was cremated and there will be no services. Burial at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by Walker Nadler Fuller Funeral Home, 1720 South St., Lexington, Mo. Published in the Kansas City Star on 11/4/2008 And published in the Wichita Eagle... Oleksy, Charles M., 52, formerly of Wichita, passed away Nov. 1, 2008 in Higginsville, Mo. Private service by family in Kansas City, Kan. Chuck had a long career in Wichita at Cessna, Beech and Bombardier as an avionics technician, mechanic and flight manual technical writer. Chuck is survived by wife, Candy Shurigar; son, Jonathan and daughter, Karen of Wichita; son, Justin of Pottstown, Pa.; sister, Stella Bird and family of Ozark, Mo.; brother, Tom Oleksy and family of Independence, Mo. Chuck had a life-long love for airplanes, had his private pilot license, and was an accomplished self-taught musician and songwriter and enjoyed riding motorcycles. He was involved in Boy Scouts with his son, Jonathan and was so proud of his son, Justin, serving in Iraq. He and his daughter Karen enjoyed playing music together before school and were currently building a Titanic model. Chuck will be greatly missed by his family and friends. |
