Bio | Frances C. "Fran" Barchak, 49, of Independence, Mo., passed away Sunday, Sept. 26, 2004, at Truman Medical Center following an extensive battle with cancer. Fran was born May 15, 1955, in Kansas City, Mo., and had lived in the Kansas City area all of her life. She held her church membership at Redemptorist Church, where she
was in the church choir, was the head of church
decorations and coordinated decorations of weddings. Her passion in life was the church and her family. Fran's brother, Bernard, preceded her in death. Fran is survived by her husband, David, of the home; her three sons, Chris of Independence, Andy of Lee's Summit, Mo., and Matt of the home; her daughter, Jenny Kingdon of
Greenwood, Mo.; her parents, Bernard and Helen Vitt of Independence; her sister, Mary Witthar of Independence; and two grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m.
Wednesday at Redemptorist Church, followed by burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at the McGilley Midtown Chapel, Kansas City, where the Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to the Fran Barchak Memorial Fund, c/o Bank Midwest NA, P.O.
