Bio     Jerry Lynn Shaffer, 53, born February 20, 1955, died at home on February 20, 2009, after an extended illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Perry Shaffer and Ruby Calvert Hill. He is survived by his brother John C. Hill; sisters Janet Sue Schnegelsiepen and JoAnn Hill Wymer, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He lived much of his life in and around Kansas City. Jerry was a top-selling safety equipment salesman for a number of years and most recently had his own lawn care business. Jerry loved to entertain and was a wonderful storyteller. He was always ready to lend a hand to anyone who asked or looked like they needed help. He was a good and loyal man who will be missed by all. Visitation will be held Sunday, February 22, 2009, at Heartland Cremation & Burial Society, 6113 Blue Ridge Blvd., Raytown, Mo., from 2 to 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to KC Hospice. Jerry is a VH Alumni (1960) and will be gifting a Falcon sculpture he created to VH at this time. All school alumni are welcome to attend.
