Bio | In October 1973, I foolishly married. It was a mistake. It lasted 3 years. The one good thing that came from that union was my daughter, Amy, who is now 28. I met my second husband on a blind date. We just celebrated our 26th anniversary. We have a son, Daniel, who is now 23. In 1976, I started culinary classes focusing mainly on baking and cake decorating. Using the skills that I developed, I decorate cakes for all occasions and I teach these skills at ATS (Area Technical School) in Kansas City, KS. In the fall of 1976, I started ice skating. I took group classes at first, and eventually went to private lessons. Over an eleven year period, I tested in figure and freestyle skating: participated in local ice shows at King Louie and Iceland South (Later known as Foxhill Ice Arena); and at age 32, I competed twice, once in St. Louis at the Gateway Invitational, and once in Kansas City at the Foxhill Ice Arena. I took first in both competitions, in my division. When my "ice skating career" ended in the spring of 1987, for various reasons I focused my attention more on dance. From the early 1990's until the present time, I've studied ballet at The School of the Westport Ballet and most recently at The Culture House Arts Academy in Overland Park, KS. I also hold the position of Dance Director at the Full Faith Church of Love in Shawnee, KS, where my husband and I attend. With what little free time I have, I enjoy spending it with my husband, family and friends playing games or just being together. |
