Bio     I have worked for the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art as Curator of a 36,000 square foot Gilded Age Mansion that is seated on Sarasota Bay. I wrote the text for a new publication for Acanthus Press in New York City on " The Work of Dwight James Baum" part of their Architecture series. I have three other books coming out later this year, one on the Vanderbilt's Art Collection of Gothic Art published by the Kress Foundation and another for a European publisher Skira on the Ringling's collections and their mansion. Soon I hope to paint again and explore the world of nature that I so love. I feel very blessed and know how fragile life is and I do appreciate all that life has offered me. My one sorrow is no longer having my wonderful parents that gave me love and encouragement in all my crazy interests. I worked at the Independence Art Center, The Kansas City Philharmonic, and the Nelson- Atkins Museum of Art while I lived in Kansas City and was an apprentice to an artist for three years. I feel so lucky to have followed my dream of working in the Arts and Kansas City gave me many opportunities. I am still very close to my sister Kristie Coburn and of course Valerie Matula who has been my most prised friend for 40 years, and I love her very much.
