Bio | Mary Lou Archer, age 67, of Independence, Missouri, passed away with the first light of dawn shining on her face the morning of July 14th, 2022. She was born February 2nd, 1955 in Kansas City Missouri to Lonnie Fishell and Nellie May (Hagerman) Fishell. She grew up and lived in Independence, Missouri her whole life. Mary graduated from Van Horn High School in 1973. She married her high school sweet heart, Michael Archer, on February 2nd, 1979 (groundhog’s day) in Independence, Missouri.
Mary enjoyed writing short stories, doing crafts, gardening, feeding the birds in her backyard and spending time with her family. She spent countless hours reading the Bible and Bible devotionals, she truly loved her Lord Jesus. She attended Church on the Rock Outreach Center in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. She enjoyed working with children, worked at multiple daycare centers, her own home daycare, Missionette groups and coordinated a nursery-K5 church ministry on Sunday mornings for 5 years. She home schooled her two children from the 9-12th grades and made sure they got their GED’s completed.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents Lonnie and Nellie Fishell; son Jonathan Edward Archer; sisters Diane Joy Lockhart and Connie Fishell; and brother Lonnie Jerry Fishell.
She is survived by her husband, Michael; two children; son Samuel; daughter Sara Feagans (Carl); two grandchildren Tommy and Zariah; brothers Timothy Fishell of Independence, Missouri and Paul Fishell (Jalaine) of Folsom, California; sister Nancy Norris (Robert) of Lawrence, Kansas.
In lieu of flowers the family is suggesting donations to Church on the Rock Outreach Center in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. |
