Bio | Dr. Ooch Thomas Cantrell Jr., 26, a former Kansas City area doctor died Sunday, October 25, 1981 at St. Joseph Hospital of gunshot wounds he received earlier that day. Dr. Cantrell currently lived in Butler, MO. Dr. Cantrell had practiced medicine at the Bates County Medical Clinic for 2 ½ years. He graduated from Van Horn High School in 1973 and from the University of Missouri- Kansas City School of Medicine in 1979. He was a member of the American Medical Association and the Beverly Hills Baptist Church, Independence. He was born in Kansas City and had lived in Independence most of his life before moving to Butler in 1979. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Peggy Cantrell of the home, and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. O.T. Cantrell sr., and his maternal grandfather, James A Taffner, all of Independence. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Carson Independence Chapel; graveside services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Warren Cemetery, Pineville, MO. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the chapel. The family requests no flowers and suggests contributions to Children’s Mercy Hospital. Printed in the KC Star October 27, 1981. |
