Bio | The 73 class lost a beautiful soul and a strong warrior who fought cancer for several years, Dennis Blevins. Please keep his wife from our class, Connie Williams Blevins, in your thoughts and prayers. Dennis Blevins, 70, of Blue Springs, Missouri, passed away on June 7, 2025, at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. Dennis was born on December 29, 1954, in Springfield, Missouri, and grew up in Independence, where he attended school and made lifelong memories. A proud veteran, Dennis served in the United States Navy from 1975 to 1979. He went on to enjoy a 26-year career with Southwestern Bell Telephone (AT&T), followed by retirement roles in the Walmart Information Systems Department and with the Blue Springs School District’s Transportation team. Dennis was known for his gentle nature, dependable work ethic, and deep love for his family. Whether it was supporting his grandchildren’s activities or sharing a quiet moment with Connie, his beloved wife, he found great joy in the people closest to him. He was preceded in death by his father, Herbert Blevins, and his mother, Vonda McFarlan. Dennis is survived by his wife, Connie Blevins; his son, Joel Blevins; his stepdaughter, Andrea Allen (Seth); and his stepson, Chad Sanderson (Cami). He was a proud grandfather to Griffin Sanderson, Henry Allen, and Archer Sanderson. He also leaves behind his brother, Roger Blevins, and many extended family and friends who will miss him dearly. A private service for family and close friends will be held at Heartland Cremation & Burial Society in Blue Springs, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to cancer research in Dennis’s memory. |
