| Bio | As many of you know, I dated Mike Barnes (Van Horn class 1972) throughout my junior and senior year. We got married the summer of 1974 and moved to Lawrence, Kansas. In 1976 we relocated to Virginia for Mike to obtain his Master’s degree from Virginia Tech.
True to the story of “Love Story”, I was expectant with our fist child in 1979 upon Mike’s graduation from Virginia Tech. We then moved to Virginia Beach, Virginia where Juliette was born. Mike and I currently have 4 children: Juliette (23), Gabriel (18), Kimberly (15), and Marielle (12).
I am the Director of Administration and Finances for our Architectural company, Barnes Design Group, P.C. We specialize in church design and church architecture and have completed together over 250 church commissions.
I currently do all the Public Relations for Mike’s recently published book, The Highest Calling…Fatherhood.
In my spare time I design and handpaint needlepoint canvases. My work has been published in the Leisure Arts craft magazine after producing several winning designs. I use to employ 4 sales reps to carry my line of needlepoint designs in all regions of the country. Now I specialize in custom design needlepoint.
We have a cabin in the Blue Ridge Mountains that we utilize in the winter months and we enjoy boating off the Virginia Beach coast during the summer months.
