Bio     Daniel Eric Parker, 57, of Blue Springs, Mo., passed away Friday, July 27, 2012, at the Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City, Mo. Dan was born Dec. 5, 1954, to Harris and Hazel Parker in Independence, Mo. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Jana Hawkins Parker; three daughters, Janet Parker of Miami, Okla., Mallory (Dane) Montgomery of Lee's Summit, Mo., and McKenna Parker of the home; his grandson, Ashton Parker of Miami, Okla.; brother, Gil (Mary) Parker of Independence; his sister, Allison (Gary) Parker Bagley of Blue Springs; eight nephews and nieces, and countless other family members and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Fred Parker. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, at First United Methodist Church in Blue Springs. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5, also at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kansas City Hospice House

Dan has an MBA from Pittsburg State University and works as a consultant in the computer industry. His wife, Jana, is also a graduate of Pitts State and is a parent educator for the Blue Springs School District. They have three daughters, aged 32, 22, and 12 (2008). The oldest daughter has her Master's degree and teaches school in Joplin, MO. She also raises her 10-year old son, Dan's grandson. The middle daughter recently graduated with a degree in Interactive Digital Media and is a graphics designer in Kansas City. The youngest maintains an A+ average in middle school in Blue Springs.

Jerry is a VH Alumni (1960) and will be gifting a Falcon sculpture he created to VH at this time. All school alumni are welcome to attend.
