| Bio | James Michael “Mike” Larsen, age 63, passed away August 26, 2018.
Visitation will be at 9:00am followed by funeral services at 10:00 on Friday, August 31 at Floral Hills Funeral Home. Mike was born September 7, 1954 in Independence, MO to Jack and Delta Hope (Blackburn)Larsen. He graduated from Van Horn High School in 1972. Mike married Gwendolyn Eli in 1997. He was employed by General Motors Corporation for over 45 years. Mike was a member of Crossroads Church of Grain Valley for 17 years. He enjoyed playing the drums and played for the church praise team for over 15 years. Mike worked security for the Kansas Speedway for 9 years. He loved Jesus, his wife, his family, his church, and the Kansas City Chiefs. Mike was preceded in death by his grandparents and his father. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Gwen Larsen; mother, Delta Hope Larsen; sisters, Kathleen Larsen and Tambi Bauman-Larsen; step-children, Michelle Grasso and Shane (Tabitha) Goodin; 4 grandchildren, Angelina Grasso, Gabriella Grasso, Madison Goodin, Ethan Goodin; and other nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Crossroads Church Benevolence Fund. |
