Bio | Roger Lee Brown, 62, of Independence, Mo., passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at Centerpoint Medical Center.
Cremation is planned with a memorial gathering to be held from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 29, 2017, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055.
Roger was born June 25, 1954, in Springfield, Mo., to Weaver and Effie (Smith) Brown. He moved to Independence at a young age and attended Van Horn High School. He had worked as a millwright for LaFarge Concrete for a number of years and later for Little Blue Valley Sewer District until his health failed. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed building, hunting, fishing, woodworking, mowing and most of all spending time with his family, especially his grandsons.
He is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl of the home; 2 daughters, Chastity Brown (Todd) of Lee's Summit, Mo., and Vanessa Brown of Independence, Mo.; 3 grandsons, Lawson Brown, Noah Earley and Sam Earley; a great granddaughter, Payton Martin; 2 brothers, Paul Brown (Linda) Ash Grove, Mo., and Kenneth Brown (Linda) of North Kansas City, Mo. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Darrell Brown.
