| Bio | Gary Wayne Cobb, age 69, of Kansas City, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, December 22, 2021. A memorial service for Gary will be held Saturday, January 15, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at McGilley & Sheil Funeral Home, 11924 East 47th Street, Kansas City, MO 64133.
Gary was born November 22, 1952 in Kansas City, Missouri to Jay and Gertrude Cobb. Gary grew up with his siblings, Vickie Ann (Cobb) Grimm, Eldon Eugene Cobb and Anna May Cretchfield. They were extremely close and very protective of one another. If you messed with one, you messed with them all. Throughout the years they remained very close and although miles separated them, their love for one another never changed.
Gary later married Karen Slankard and they have a child, Joseph Quinten in 1971. Life isn't always perfect and neither are people and this marriage didn't last. Later in Gary's life journey he married Norma Early and they had a son, Shawn Michael in 1980.
Most of his adult life was spent working at Columbia Glass and Windows. He was a very talented, hard-working glass cutter. Gary was creative and enjoyed his work. He made a lifetime of friends who were very dedicated to assisting his health and wellbeing. One such friend of 40+ years is Darrell. Gary and Darrell worked together and remained close friends until the day Gary passed away. the family deeply appreciates all the love and support Darrell gave to Gary over the years.
Gary was a creative, kind, funny and extremely talented. He loved decorating for the holidays, cooking, and working in the yard. he grew beautiful veggies and loved picking and eating them. Gary's craziness and love will forever be missed. We will forever remember and miss our confidant, friend, and brother. We were truly blessed to have been a part of his life.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Anna May. He will be missed by his children, Joseph and Shawn; his siblings, Vickie Ann Grimm (Dan) and Eldon Eugene Cobb (Shelby); grandson, little Joey and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
