Bio | Madeline Eileen (Brockhouse) Garman, 60, of Independence, Mo., passed away Friday, January 3, 2014, in Liberty, Mo. Madeline was born at Trinity Lutheran Hospital in Kansas City, Mo., on July 30, 1953, to Bobby Arno Brockhouse (1922-1997) and Elizabeth Irene (Eller) Brockhouse (born 1926). Eileen, as she was known, grew up in Independence and was a 1971 graduate of Van Horn High School. She had three children by her first marriage to William "Bill" Ashurst: two sons, Brandy and Craig Ashurst; and a daughter, Cherry Ashurst. Eileen married Jeff Garman at the Made in Heaven Wedding Chapel in Randolph, Mo., on July 7, 1995. She is survived by her husband; mother; brother, Michael Brockhouse; all three children; nine grandchildren, Chelsey Ashurst, Haley Williams, Joseph Ashurst, Zachary Ashurst, Brandy Ashurst, Addriana Brown, Kiara Ashurst, Anthony Brown and Kalani Ashurst; one great-grandchild, Colton Choate; several extended family members and many friends. Eileen will be remembered as a hard-working, honest, loving, woman of faith who spent her free-time with her large family. Funeral services will be 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 10, at Chapel of Memories Funeral Home, 30000 E. Valor Drive, Grain Valley, Mo. Visitation will be at 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
