Bio     Debbie Lou Mallory, 67, of Bonner Springs, KS, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2020 in Olathe, KS after bravely fighting a long fierce battle with colon cancer. Debbie was surrounded by her loving family at the time of her passing. Debbie is survived by her husband of 44 years, Jerry Mallory of Bonner Springs, KS, her son John Mallory and daughter-in-law Christa Mallory, of Kirkland, WA, her two grandchildren, Olivia Mallory and Owen Mallory, as well as many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great- great nieces and nephews Debbie was preceded in death by her father Dewey Ray, her mother Margaret Ray, and her sister Janet Enloe. Debbie was born in Independence, MO to Dewey and Margaret Ray. Debbie attended Van Horn High School in Independence, MO. Debbie then attended college at Central Missouri State University where she obtained an undergraduate degree in Education. Following her schooling at Central Missouri State she earned her master’s degree from the University of Missouri – Kansas City. After completing her advanced degree, she spent her career teaching business, technology, computer science, and keyboarding to the students of Bonner Springs High School and Robert E. Clark Middle School. Debbie had a passion for teaching students and was a beloved teacher by many in her 40 years of service. After her retirement she enjoyed making homemade greeting cards, scrapbooking, traveling to Hawaii and Alaska with her husband Jerry, attending two Super Bowls, and traveling to the Seattle, WA area to be with her son John and his family. Debbie also enjoyed cooking big family meals, daily video chats with her grand kids, Kansas City Chiefs and Seattle Seahawks football, and playing with her Yorkie dog, Leo.
