Bio | Karla “Evonne” Harves Carey, 64 of Independence, MO passed away Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Truman Medical Center. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 8, 2018 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052 with burial to follow in Mt. Washington Cemetery. Evonne was born December 2, 1953 in Independence, MO to Walter Carl Harves, Jr. and Carole (Richey) Harves. and has been a lifelong resident, graduating from Van Horn High School in 1973. She was a beloved mother, grandmother and homemaker who enjoyed crafts, tending her flowers and spending time with her granddaughters. She was a member of the Air Force Reserves. Survivors include; a son David “Keith” Carey and wife Lynette of Independence, MO; 2 granddaughters, Shelby Paige Carey and Mackenzie Nicole Carey; 3 brothers, Carl Dean Harves of Independence, MO, Cary Neal Harves of Kansas City, KS and Carlin Bruce Harves of Independence, MO; 2 sisters, Karyl Belenda Harves of North Kansas City, MO and Karena Renee Coyle of Independence, MO and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Karen Raecena Harves on December 31, 2017 and her parents.
