Family and friends will gather from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 7, 2024. Memorial service will commence at 10:00 a.m. Memories of Ed and words of comfort for his family may be shared at meyersfuneralchapel.com Edward “Ed” Ray Forrest passed away peacefully Monday, November 18, 2024, at the Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City, MO. He was born October 14, 1953, to Clifton “Ray” and Betty (Greer) Forrest in Kansas City, MO. Ed was a 1971 graduate of Van Horn High School in Independence, MO. He spent 31 years working as a Independence Police officer before his retirement in 2009. Ed enjoyed attending his children’s activities, hunting, fishing, and farming sweet corn. Ed is survived by his children, Emilie Forrest of Bates City, MO; Kyle Forrest and his wife Sarah of Kansas City, MO, Kasey Forrest and his wife Kristina of Olathe, KS; brothers, Ron Forrest of Pleasant Hill, MO, Alan Forrest of Independence, MO; granddaughters, Charlotte Forrest, Freya Forrest.
