Bio | Sherri Ann Dade, 61, Raytown, MO passed away May 20, 2014. Memorial services will begin at 6:30 pm, Tuesday, May 27 at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052. Visitation will begin at 5:30 pm before the service at the chapel. The family requests contributions to the M.S. Society Kansas City Chapter, 7611 State Line Rd #100, Kansas City, MO 64114. Sherri was born June 7, 1952 in Kansas City, MO. She graduated from Van Horn High School in 1970, later attended CMSU and then earned her Associate Degree in Radiology from Research Hospital. She was co-owner of the “Forever Friends” Antique Shop in Independence during the late 1980’s. She was a member of Crown Pointe Church and taught Sunday school there earlier in her life. She was the “Neighborhood Mom” to the children in her neighborhood and her home was always open to these children. In addition to antiquing, she enjoyed cooking, gardening and decorating. Sherri was preceded in death by her father Thurl C. McNeill. She is survived by daughters Bethany Hess and husband Wayne, Overland Park, KS; Kara Bruner and husband Matthew, Mission Hills, KS; Laura Kackley and husband Craig; her mother Peggy McNeill, all of Independence, MO; sister Teresa Curry and husband Mike, Lee’s Summit, MO; brother Gary McNeill and wife Kris, Independence, MO; ex-husband Larry Dade, Kansas City, MO; close family friend Melanie Rine and husband Jim, Leawood, KS and seven grandchildren. |
