Bio | Ammon Denham Cerda, 52, Independence, MO, passed away Saturday, September 25, 2004, in Camden County, MO. Born on August 26, 1952, Ammon, raised in Independence, attended Van Horn High School, later married his best friend Debra Johnson. Employed as a flagman at Burlington Northern Railroad for over 30 years, he was considered a very focused and kind person. He loved music and archery. Left to celebrate his life and cherish his memory, are his devoted wife of 30 years, Debra Cerda; loving parents, Salvador and Lois Cerda; three sons, Steven Washam (Dena), Jason Cerda (Marchelle), and Derek Cerda; his siblings, Salvador Cerda (Jane), Daniel Cerda (Eunice), Jonathan Cerda (Mary), Timothy Cerda, Joanna Moretine, and David Cerda (Diane). He also leaves five grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. Visitation will be 7-8:30 p.m. Friday, October 1, at New Salem Funeral Home, 1823 N. Blue Mills Rd., Independence, MO.
