Lee's Summit, Missouri - Stephen Robert Swearingen, of Lee's Summit, MO, a loving husband, father and grandfather passed away at the age of 70 on Sunday, October 3, 2021 at KU Medical Center. Services will be at 11:00 AM., Friday, October 8, 2021 at Our Lady of Presentation Catholic Church in Lee's Summit, MO, with a visitation starting at 9:30 AM.
Steve was born March 1, 1951, in Kansas City, MO. He attended Van Horn High School and went on to graduate from the University of Missouri, Columbia.
He is survived by wife, Connie of 47 years; daughter, Courtney Polly (Evan); son Jacob (Chere); grandchildren, Emma, Owen, Colin, Miles, Ellis and brother David Swearingen.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Ruth.
Steve demonstrated courage and bravery during his 5 ½ year battle with cancer. His attitude was inspiring and gave his family strength during this difficult time. Steve loved his family and always put them first.
