Bio | Charles "Chuck" E. Hutchens, 57 of Lee's Summit, Mo., passed away Sunday, March 9, 2008, at his home. Visitation services will be held Thursday, March 13, at Woods Chapel Methodist Church 4725 NE Lakewood Way, Lee's Summit, from 9 to 11 a.m. with funeral services to follow. Graveside service at Mt. Washington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Chuck would have suggested a donation to the American Cancer Society, the Cancer Connection at Woods Chapel Methodist Church or a charity of your choice. Chuck was born in 1951 in Cut Bank, Mont. His family moved to the Kansas City area in 1958. He was a 1969 graduate of Van Horn High School. Chuck was employed by Western Auto from 1979 until 1997 during which time he held various executive positions including the Vice President of Market Development. Chuck married his wife Sharon (Wingo), a 1968 graduate of Van Horn High School on April 17, 1970, at Fairmount Christian Church in Independence, Mo. Chuck is survived by his wife, Sharon; three daughters, Angela Hutchens and her fiance Patrick Leach, both of Lee's Summit, April Toliver and her husband Garry of Independence, Ashli Pyle, her husband Matthew; and his beautiful twin grandchildren, Payton Matthew and Marley Rae Pyle of Kansas City; his parents, Harold and Thelma Wingo of Independence, and his father, Darald Hutchens of Kalispell, Mont.; his brother, Jim Hutchens of Independence; a step- sister, Deborah Lascuola of Oak Grove, Mo.; and a half-brother, Trace Wingo of Independence. Chuck also leaves behind three nephews, Tony Lascuola, Jake and Jackson Wingo; and nieces, Gina and Francesca Lascuola and Shannon and Tahnee Hutchens; and many other loving family members and friends. Chuck enjoyed spending his days enjoying life and sharing his love with his family. His life on Earth was fulfilled by the time he spent with his devoted wife Sharon.

I married Sharon Wingo (VH Class of 1968) in April of 1970. We have 3 daughters. Sharon and I are both retired and enjoy collecting 1950s memorabilia and life on the lake. |
