Larry attended Kansas City Trade School to become a machinist. He worked at Armco, General Motors, and Sealright. He continued to race go-karts most of his life, making it a family event and spending many weekends together at the races. His passion turned into a career when he opened his own go-kart shop F.M.S. (Fairfield Motor Sports) in his backyard barn on Twyman Road, later relocating to 24Hwy & Dickinson Rd in Independence where he continued to have a successful business in partnership with his son. Steven will honor his father and his love for racing by continuing the success of F.M.S.
