Bio     James Gayle "Jim" Cusick, 59, passed away November 12, 2010. Memorial services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 17, at Park Lawn Funeral Home, 8251 Hillcrest Rd. Jim was born February 7, 1951, to Gaylon and Sara Cusick. Jim lived in and around the Kansas City and Independence area most of his life. He moved to Texas and then Arizona for thirteen years and had just recently moved back. He graduated from Van Horn High School in 1969 and was on the wrestling team. He served in the U. S. Army from 1970 to 1972 and later joined the National Guard. Jim had a love for music. He enjoyed playing the guitar and played in several bands when he was young. Jim has many friends and never knew a stranger. Everyone who ever met him instantly liked him. In 1986 he met and married in 1988 the love of his life, Tina Cupito and have been happily married ever since. Jim was a truck driver and had just recently retired due to illness. He is preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Robert and Fanny Cannon and Mr. & Mrs. James and Gertrude Cusick. Jim is survived by his loving wife, Tina Cusick, his beloved children, Carrie Cusick, Jeremy Cusick and wife Taneka, Joseph Cusick, Abigail Cusick; his parents, Gaylon and Sara Cusick; two sisters, Cathy Williams, Sandra Constable and husband, Jerry; sister-in-law and her husband, Michelle and Todd McSpadden; mother-in-law, Sharon Cupito; father-in-law, Don Cupito; his loving grandchildren, Amaya, Marissa, Kearstin, Marcus; six nieces and nephews and other family and many friends. Jerry is a VH Alumni (1960) and will be gifting a Falcon sculpture he created to VH at this time. All school alumni are welcome to attend.
