Bio     1951 - 2014 Thomas E. Carter, 63, Kansas City, Mo., passed away July 16, 2014, surrounded by his family and friends after a brave two year battle with cancer. Visitation from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, July 21, at the McGilley & Sheil Chapel. Cremation. Tom was born March 1, 1951, in Kansas City to Bletch "Jack" and Norma Carter. He was a member of the US Air Force Reserve. Tom was an Engineer for over 30 years with the Kansas City Southern RR; retiring in 2012. He was an avid Royals fan and played softball. Tom was a music lover and a huge Beatles fan. Tom was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his son, Derek Carter; daughter, Kristin Carter and brothers, William (Peggy), Doug (Marge) and Bruce (Leslie).
