Patricia Lucille Rinehart, 73, passed away peacefully in the early hours of November 13, 2023, at Lee’s Summit Medical Center.
Patricia was born on January 17, 1950, to James and Norma Frances (Hall) Sirginous in Independence, MO. and was a lifelong resident. She graduated from Van Horn High School in 1968 and retired from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas City after 30 years of service in 2005.
Patti, as she was known to most, was a woman of strong family values who centered her life around loving others, often putting the needs of others before her own. Her most treasured gift in life was being a loving and dedicated mother, not only to just her daughter, but also as “another mother” to many young men & women throughout the years. She was always available for a great laugh or a good cry, and her door was always open. She loved spending time with her best friends “the Ya Ya’s”, a great day of shopping, especially if purses or shoes were involved, traveling, going to the Casino, dipping her toes in the sand, backyard barbecues, days by the pool, nights at the race track, a good Bloody Mary, Mexican food, and fast cars.
Patti was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Maggie; her brother, Mike and her beloved grand-dog Izzie. She is survived by her daughter, Dana Benedict of Blue Springs; a step-grandson, Dalton Benedict of Buckner; a nephew, Chris Atwood of Independence and a god-daughter, Shar-Ron Thomas of Kansas City.
The family would like to give special thanks to her care team in the ICU at Lee’s Summit Medical Center, and her two Angels in the PCU, nurses Kristin and Julina.
Flowers are welcomed, because they made her smile, but the family requests that any donations made in lieu of flowers be made to the American Heart Association, the American Kidney Foundation, or the American Diabetes Foundation. |
