| Bio | Roger D. Parkes, 69, a resident of Lee’s Summit, MO passed away on Monday, October 1, 2018 at his home. Roger was born March 7, 1949 to Harold and Veda G. (Wood) Parkes in Independence, MO.
As a young man, Roger earned his Eagle Scout badge. He graduated from the University of Missouri Rolla with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering. Roger spent the majority of his working career as an Electrical Engineer for Missouri Public Service. He enjoyed gardening and constructing model trains.
He was preceded in death by both parents. Survived by three brothers: Ken Parkes and his wife, Shirley of Parkville, MO; Larry Parkes and his wife, Haroldene of Ft. Worth, TX; and David Parkes and his wife, Janet of Overland Park, KS; numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at the Meyers Funeral Chapel 1600 W. Main Street Blue Springs, MO. A Memorial Service celebrating Roger’s life will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Blue Springs Chapel.
