Linda R Mattson Martin, 72, passed away at her home on March 4, 2022. She was a 1967 graduate of Van Horn High School in Independence, Missouri. She was a member of the pep club as well as the Future Business Leaders of America club. Linda worked at United States Fidelity and Guarantee in Kansas City, Missouri until she retired. Linda then became an Avon representative and sold Avon products for more than 20 years. Linda was married to Milton “Jim” Martin on March 31, 1984 until his death October 3, 2001. She and Jim loved to travel - their favorite place to go was Las Vegas. They also traveled to New Mexico and would buy turquoise jewelry from the Native Americans on the reservation.
Linda was an avid collector of Longaberger baskets and Hallmark ornaments and cards. She enjoyed sending greeting cards to her family and friends, if only to put a smile on their face. She also loved to read and was a member of a book club.
Linda was preceded in death by her husband Jim, her mother Rose Mattson, father Harold Mattson. She is survived by her brother Richard Mattson, her niece Jennifer Buell, husband Curtis and son Drake. Uncle Jim Jumet, wife Julie and sons. Cousins Harold Barron, wife Sherry and Virginia Woodard, husband Jerry.
Linda was a very kind, gentle, and thoughtful person. She will be greatly missed. |
