Bio | Joseph Michael Marek passed away peacefully at home on August 29, 2011. He was born Aug. 31, 1949, to Mary and Michael Marek of Sugar Creek, Mo. He was a member of Sigma Tau Gamma Fraternity at CMSU. Joe lived in Connecticut for 28 years, and returned to Missouri to enjoy his retirement years with family and friends. He had a great time doing it! Joe is survived by his loving wife, Carol; brothers, Ron, Jim and wife Denise; sister, Victoria Stumpenhaus and husband Larry; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and wonderful friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 2, at St. Cyril's Church, 11231 Chicago St., Sugar Creek. Memorial donations may be made to the Comfort Care Hospice, Cameron, Mo., American Cancer Society or the Methodist Estabrook Cancer Center, Omaha, Neb.
