| Bio | Christopher "Chris" D. Calahan passed away Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013, with family members at his side.
Chris was born January 8, 1949, in Independence, Mo., to Jack and Helen Calahan. He graduated from Van Horn High School in 1967. Chris was an Eagle Scout and a member of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. He attended Central Missouri University and McPherson College before enlisting in the U.S. Navy and serving his country during the Vietnam War. He was past president of the local VFW. Some of his favorite interests included photography, hunting, and spending time with his family. Chris was a gentle man with a great sense of humor and he will be missed by all those that knew him. Chris was preceded in death by his parents.
Chris is survived by his wife, Bunnie, and daughters, Trina (Paul), Christie (Mark), and Renee all of Ontario, Oregon; sons, Brandon (Dorothy) of Rocky Springs, Wyo., and Jeremy of the home; brothers, Paul (Barbara) of Independence, Mo., and Walter (Pat) of Lee's Summit, Mo.; and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held Aug 31 in Ontario, Ore. In passing, Chris donated organs for Alzheimer's research, and in lieu of flowers, consider giving to the Alzheimer's Foundation or to Operation Stand Down.
