| Bio | Charles "Dennis" Akright, of Independence, Mo., went to be with the Lord on Friday, Feb. 22, 2008, after a long battle with spinal stenosis. He was born Nov. 24, 1947. Dennis was employed as a truck driver for the U.S. Postal Service for 29 years. He leaves behind his wife, Barbara; two sons, Chad and Kevin Akright; two sisters, Shirley Hancock and Patty Johnson; two grandchildren, Emily and Ethan; a host of nieces and nephews and loads of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Norma Akright. Visitation will be held 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 24, 2008, at the D.W. Newcomer's Sons Noland Road Chapel, 509 S. Noland Road., Independence, Mo., 64050. Funeral
