| Bio | HOWEY Sharon Sue Sharon Sue Howey, age 64, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, June 3, 2012. She was born in Independence, MO on January 13, 1948. She lived and raised her family in Independence for 42 years before moving to Toledo with her husband of 35 years, Edward Howey. Sharon was a loving, caring, and joyful person who never knew a stranger. She brought light and life to all that knew her, including the doctors and nurses who cared for over the last difficult months and who wished all of their patients could have the same positive attitude. Sharon was a talented and awarded artist, an awarded cook, decorator, gardener, mentor, teacher, friend, mother, and wife. Sharon was involved with adult literacy programs, tutoring numerous adults. For ten years, Sharon volunteered in the Toledo area at nursing homes and Alzheimer's care facilities, bringing in a weekly stimulus program to entertain, spur memories, or bring light to the season of the year. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Earline Welch, and her daughter, Galena. Sharon is survived by her husband; sister, Lanieta Elliott; children Sabrena Lea, Raytown, MO, Douglas Howey, Brasov, Romania, and Teresa Conner, Bridgeton, MO, and grandchildren, Olivia, Mira, Gracen, Jadon, Abby, Rowan, and Liam. Friends may visit at the Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S. Reynolds Rd., on Wednesday from 2-8 p.m. Funeral services and interment will take place on Saturday, June 9, 2012. in Kansas City, MO.
