Daniel D. McAvoy Jr.
Daniel David McAvoy Jr., 53, Independence, died Monday, Aug. 20, 2001, at his home.
Mr. McAvoy was born July 14, 1948, in Kansas City. He was a fireman for the Clark County (Nevada) Fire Department for 25 years, retiring in 1999. He was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War and was awarded two Bronze Stars and an Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal. He was a lifetime member of the Veteran's of Foreign Wars Post in Sugar Creek.
His survivors include two brothers, Larry McAvoy and wife, Terri, St. Joseph, Mo., and Brian McAvoy, San Bernadino, Calif.; a sister, Bobbie Williams and husband, Wayne, Independence; two nieces; one nephew; and a great-niece.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Mound Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Noland Road Chapel. |
