Bio | Michael Alan Farris, 68, passed from his earthly body September 19, 2016 at Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care in Chicago, IL, peacefully and surrounded by loved ones. Born in Rockford, IL to Rev. William Bond Farris, a Methodist minister, and Ruth (Laizure) Farris, a high school teacher, he is the oldest of four children. He graduated from Van Horn High School in Independence, MO in 1966 and went on to join the Kappa Sigma fraternity and obtain a Bachelor's in Psychology from Baker University in Baldwin City, KS in 1973. He spent his life showing love and care to others, in his job as a social worker, and as a devoted father. He is survived by his two children, Christine and Ryan Farris, sister Judy Bernicchi, brother David Farris, brother John Farris, and many nieces and nephews. His quirky sense of humor and big heart will be intensely missed. Memorial services will be held at First United Methodist Church in Baldwin City, KS on October 2 at 2pm. Donations may be made to the American Stroke Association. |
